What it is

Iron oxides are the pigments used in most foundations and tinted sunscreens. Three colours, red, yellow and black, are mixed in different ratios to match a range of skin tones.

As well as adding colour, they absorb some visible light, which untinted sunscreens do not cover.

How we use it

In Tinted SPF 30 and Tinted Lip Balm. The amount varies by shade, so it is printed on each box rather than given as one number.

How to use

Nothing extra to do. Choose the shade closest to your skin tone; the tint is sheer.

Pairs well with

Zinc oxide in the same formula.

Cautions

Pigment can transfer to collars and masks until the sunscreen has set.
